As Golf’s Signature Sip, Elijah Craig is proud to announce the release of our new limited edition Toasted Barrel Bourbon: finished in European toasted oak barrels to commemorate the 2023 Ryder Cup in Rome, Italy. This release is an exciting continuation of our multi-year partnership as the “Official Bourbon” and Worldwide Supplier of the biennial competition: representing a marriage of the U.S. Team’s native spirit with the famed wine growing region surrounding the European host city.

This limited edition starts with our fully-matured Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon that we finish in new European Oak barrels. The toast on these barrels evokes the flavors of the Lazio wine growing region in and around Rome, where the 2023 Ryder Cup is being held at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club September 29th through October 1st.

European oak, with its ability to integrate flavors subtly and softly, effortlessly balances the sweetness and spiciness of the Lazio-inspired toast profile with the elevated character of our fully-matured Bourbon. This edition leads with a nose of caramel and crème brûlée and once tasted, bright fruit notes burst onto the palate after initial notes of baking spices. The finish is moderately long and is dominated by spice.

Each bottle will be adorned with a neck label featuring the Ryder Cup trophy, a gold coin emblazoned cork featuring the Ryder Cup logo, and a face label prominently featuring the “Official Bourbon” designation and Ryder Cup logo. The bottles will come packaged in a gift box which further details the story of this one-time offering, and will become available nationally in August on an allocated basis.
